Olive Ink started in March 2020, when illustrator and teacher Lauren Bernard pulled out her watercolors and started painting. Inspired by her students while teaching online, painting became a way to slow down, pay attention, and make sense of a strange and uncertain time.
As she shared her work with her students, Lauren realized these little paintings gave people something to hold onto: humor, connection, comfort, and a way to express things we don’t always have words for.
Lauren still sketches and paints from everyday life, exploring joy, love, big feelings, and the funny, tender mess of being human. She begins each painting with the eyes, where a little personality and story begin to emerge.
Today, Olive Ink includes cards, stickers, and calendars, and you can find us in shops around Seattle and at seasonal pop-ups.
If you’d like to stock Olive Ink, collaborate, or place a custom order, we’d love to connect.
xx,
Team Olive
